GWSCPA Announces 2025 Scholarship Recipients

Washington, DC—The Greater Washington Society of CPAs (GWSCPA) is pleased to announce the 2025 GWSCPA Scholarship Recipients. The recipients were announced during the 102nd Annual Membership Meeting on June 25, 2025.

This year's scholarship award categories and recipients are:

Past President’s Scholarship Award:

Awarded to: Tapiwa Mandizera, American University

This scholarship, implemented by the sitting past presidents of the GWSCPA, is awarded to a student who demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities and potential.  

Sue Marcum Scholarship Award:

Awarded to: Mariam Debas, George Mason University

This scholarship, named for former AU Professor Sue Marcum, is awarded to a student demonstrating a commitment to community service.  

Additional 2025 Scholarship Awards:

Awarded to: Carla Issac, Catholic University
                       Torian Powell, University of the District of Columbia
                       Kayleah Shelton, University of the District of Columbia
                       Nupur Sharma, American University
